Ship of Fooles Studios has inked a deal with Dartcher to release a brand new Godzilla film for July 1, 2011. The weekend of Transformers 3 the film has its eyes set on being one of the most successful action films of HTG. Set in Vancouver, Canada (for once) the film will feature Godzilla battling against other monsters.
Gore Verbinski is set to direct. Verbinski is friendly with Ship of Fooles Studios so works for a discount. No word on cast but Lucian is said to be very willing to spend for big name stars. It is not clear if the Canadian military will be a part of the movie. If so we may finally learn if Godzilla can withstand cannon fire.
This film will not prevent Lucian from reviving the old Godzilla cartoon as a film or TV series in the future. The continuity will be separate.
